Brothers Eddie and Charlie find a photo of their great-great-uncles they were named after and discover an amazing story of World War I.

Assured that the Germans have been destroyed, the young uncles were sent into No-Man’s Land in the ‘First Wave’ of the Somme. But when Charlie is forced to leave Eddie behind, their lives are changed forever.

Paul Dowswell

Paul has written over 60 books, both fiction and non-fiction.  His main interest is in History.  He studied History at Cambridge, before working in publishing for many years.

His fiction is mainly set during the World Wars and the Cold War Era.  He has won many awards for his books including Historical Association Young Quills Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
